Color guide
Color-coded lever nut wire connectors
Match lever colors to how you wire. Black and brown for ground, red and orange for power, and the rest for circuit marking—then build your compact or inline connector with the exact combination you need.
Ground colors
Common choices for ground and return conductors.
- Black lever nut connectors Black levers are commonly used to mark ground conductors so splices stay easy to identify in panels, junction boxes, and DIY harnesses.
- Brown lever nut connectors Brown levers are a second ground-marking option when you need to separate grounds, shields, or chassis returns from black conductors.
Power colors
Mark hot feeds and accessory power so splices stay obvious.
- Red lever nut connectors Red levers are commonly used to mark power or hot conductors so positive feeds stand out at a glance during install and troubleshooting.
- Orange lever nut connectors Orange levers are a second power-marking color—ideal when you need to distinguish a switched hot, accessory feed, or second voltage rail from red.
Circuit marking colors
Use yellow, green, blue, purple, gray, and white to keep travelers, neutrals, signals, and specialty circuits easy to trace.
- Yellow lever nut connectors Yellow levers are popular for travelers, switched legs, and general circuit marking when you want a bright, high-contrast color on the splice.
- Green lever nut connectors Green levers help identify equipment grounding conductors or dedicated earth paths when you want the splice color to match familiar wiring conventions.
- Blue lever nut connectors Blue levers are often used for neutrals, signal lines, or cool-toned circuit marking so related conductors stay grouped visually.
- Purple lever nut connectors Purple levers give you an extra unique marking color for specialty circuits, control wires, or anything that should not share black, red, or blue.
- Gray lever nut connectors Gray levers are a subtle marking choice for commons, shields, or circuits where you want identification without a high-contrast color.
- White lever nut connectors White levers are a clean option for neutrals or bright circuit marking when you want the splice to match white conductor jackets.
